John Wilson concerts in Dublin never seem to sell as well as you would expect

The John Wilson Orchestra concerts at the BBC Proms are a sell-out every year, and also shown on BBC television every year.

Yet, when we have similar concerts in Dublin, with John Wilson conducting, and many of the same solo singers, only with the RTE Concert Orchestra rather than John Wilson's own orchestra, the concerts never seem to sell very well.

For example, there are still lots of seats left for his concert in the NCH next Thursday

Is there anything other than the recession to blame for these poor ticket sales?
    High ticket prices?
    Poor promotion?
Less interest in this sort of repetoire here?
