To qualify for the CEC class, must your occupation be on the list? I am not a skilled worker according to the NOC, but I have graduated from a college after 2 years study. I was in Canada on IEC a few years go, and want to go back out in the next 2 years. My circumstances have changed however, as I now have a partner and daughter. I know its possible for us both to go on an IEC visa, but my worry is we both give up jobs to move out, and are then forced to leave in 2 years when the IEC has run out. Can anyone advise me on this, and how we would go about staying longer than the initial 2 years?

    Thanks for that dude.
The number is on the NOC list so its basically work a year in that occupation then i can apply for the CEC the only draw back seems to be that it takes 13 months to hear a result :D

Lawlesz according to this http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=385&t=6 it has to be. but you could apply for a Provincial nominee if your occupation is on the list check the link out and scroll to the bottom you will be able to check to see if you can go the provincial nominee route. goodluck:D

You can get a bridging visa i believe if your PR has not come through in time. Just need to prove you have applied for it.

I think me and you have the exact same plan for when we get over there.
If ur headin to the rigs I think you will have to work your way up from leasehand up to motorhand first. I think the required skilled experience is only counted when you start working in this position or a derrickhand. look here
