Change Favicon Spacing - Firefox

Hey, just a minor problem here I'm looking for a bit of help with

I downloaded a new theme for Firefox the other day, I prefer it to my old one but for the fact that the favicons are too far spaced apart. The problem with that being that it squashes the address bar and means I have to use the drop down menu to see the rest of the bookmarks whereas with my old theme they all fitted comfortably, taking up less than half of the bar

    Here's my current setup..

I read that I could change the spacing by adding a few lines of code to userchrome.css but I tried this and it had no effect. I don't know much about coding though so there's a good chance I did it wrong so any help appreciated

    Any ideas?
