Nice touch by the City players meeting the Wigan team coming down from the stand with handshakes and congratulations. Sporting.

An awful manager doesn't win 3 serie A titles, the premier league and the fa cup no matter how much money he has at his disposal.

No but a crap one does

    the better team today.

didn't see that coming at all.

    see ya Mancini.

Well Mancini did. That's because there was no competition in Italy the year he won because of the match fixing scandal and with that much money at City he should have won the title twice. Absolute muck.

If those Arabs are looking for a half billion quids worth of silverwear then they should try our local jewelry store. They won't get it with that clown at the helm

Martinez did the same to Al Habsi...

At least he had some kind of reason lack of fitness i think he mentioned.

I imagine the other one was down to he wanted his best players on the pitch.

It suited him to rest Hart for the rest of the Fa cup then drop the keeper who was part of team whole way threw when they get to the final.

Delighted for James McCarthy as well.

For his Serie A titles, you have to remember he didnt actually win the first one and the other two all the big clubs had either been relegated or had massive points deductions.

And then, One league and a FA cup is a pretty poor return on half a billion pounds

We can't claim much so I'm going to jump in here and say Sunderland beating Leeds was far bigger.

The reason why I hate FA Cup Final Day. 40 years later and it still keeps getting mentioned. :(

Mancini had no competition in Italy for the league, the match fixing and following punishments set the other contenders back by multiple seasons due to relegation/points deduction/players leaving, the first one was actually awarded to the team, not even won. The following 2 had no competition.

He won the Prem because United collapsed in a very un united manner. We blew it

Anybody can win a cup tbh so its not that impressive.

Great to see the underdog win for a change.

Hardly an awful manager though or do you reckon he is too?

When exactly did City become a big club? When Sheik Mansoor rocked it IMO. 1 league and an FA Cup is skant reward for what's been spent. Lest we forget your failures to get past the group stages of the ECL

Delighted for Wigan. Not sure where that defensive display came from but I'm sure they aren't going to complain.

Not sure for the reason to screw over Pantimilion. Very bad form if it wasn't injury related.

Amazing cycle really. Dave Whelan got £400 compensation for breaking his leg in 1960. Out of that £400 he buys his first business which is so successful it leads to him starting the JJB empire which leads to him buying Wigan in 1995, which leads to the Premier League and going back to Wembley to claim the FA cup as chairman, 53 years on. Couldn't happen to a better football man tbh

No, just an above average one.

His ****ty record in the Champions league is really where I think its best to judge him.

Surely the end for Mancini and his team of mercenaries.

He's a terrible manager. Today was further evidence of that.

His teams are particularly woeful in Europe.

No trophy this year is probably not good enough for the owners. It looks like both Manchester clubs will have new managers next year for very different reasons.

A small aside, does anybody else find Jason Roberts insufferable?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,887 ✭✭✭✭klose

Does miyachi get a medal too? Joining bendtner, song and rvp in he list of leaving arsenal and winning silverware

    I kid

Well done Wigan. Totally deserved that.

I just don't like seeing Dave Whelan looking so happy.

I suppose when you get €150,000 into your bank account every Friday - it must be a hard life to have to travel to London and kick a ball around.

Sure - they'll still get their €150,000 next Friday as well.

I cant see too many of the City players losing any sleep over it tonight..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,078 ✭✭✭onemorechance

How nice to ask him about his future; it's such a s&&t question to ask him right now . . . then again he gets paid enough and it's part of the job.

It will for sure mean a hell of a lot more to Wigan winning it than it would have meant to City.

Can't wait to see the back of Mancini, a miserable character and an average manager IMO.

    And Brendan Rodgers...

Why oh why does it always have to be Liverpool related?
