Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The match is pretty much secondary this weekend as Old Trafford wishes Alex Ferguson all the best after his announcement of his retirement as manager.

No words left at this stage. Still in shock and don't really believe it.

Hopefully the situation with Rooney won't take center stage

Man Utd 1 - 2 Swansea or Man Utd 10 - 1 Swansea. As if the score matters today tomorrow.

Scholes nailed on to get a run. Giggs? Surely.

Going to be depending on some free stream for the game and I'm a bit nervous about it. Really, really, really don't want to miss a second of this.

Theres gonna be a lot of emotional people in this thread today.

I think United will run riot today.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,017 ✭✭✭Chagan

The only way for this game to go is for United to score twice in injury time and win 2-1.

Backed Scholes win cast and Giggs last goal at 3/1 and 9/1 respectively. Its really the only way it should go down.

Rooney isn't in the squad at all, Scholes starts.

Confirmed #Mufc XI: De Gea, Jones, Vidic, Rio, Evra, Carrick, Scholes, Welbeck, Kagawa, RVP, Chicharito.

One of the biggest games in United history and Rooney not in the squad.

    Bye bye Rooney...

The one real disappointing thing in Fergie's career was not getting rid of this boy after the transfer request.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,054 ✭✭✭✭Professey Chin

MU: De Gea; Jones, Vidic, Ferdinand, Evra; Welbeck, Carrick, Scholes, Kagawa; Hernandez, van Persie

Subs: Lindegaard, Evans, Buttner, Anderson, Valencia, Cleverley, Giggs

Didn't he score 30 plus goals the season after the transfer request.

    That's Nani and Rooney gone

Ya possibly but it proved the desicion to do whatever it took to keep him was right.

    That's Nani and Rooney gone

In fairness, that'll be Moyes decision, not Fergie's.

In fairness, that'll be Moyes decision, not Fergie's.

Tbh, the fact it was "leaked" Rooney asked for his transfer just before Moyes was announced as the new manager, to me, showed Moyes wants him gone too, but the PR department didn't want it to look like the new manager was coming in and booting out someone.

If anyone has any good recipe recommendations for some SS1 cake I'd really appreciate them via PM. Will happily pay if it's a very tasty cake!

Yeah that's a good point, he'll probably give every player a chance to prove themselves.

Can I get in on this cake action too please? Die hard fan in South Korea who needs his fix :(

Be interesting to hear the official line about Rooney. Surely Utd will play it down (whatever it is) gives us the "he's not for sale" line.

Certainly from the outside you'd most probably say he is gone.

I don't think think it was. It was 2010 wasn't it.

Season 2009/10 he scored 30 plus goals. It was late 2010 when he asked for request.

There was a rumour going around on twitter last night that Jones punched Rooney and cut him, and that Rooney wouldn't be in the squad because of it.

But it's almost certainly not true, MUTV showed Rooney getting off the bus and there wasn't a scratch on him.

It was the 09/10 he scored 34 goals and the 10/11 season when he looked to move
