    Hi,
Have read a few threads on here about the BG pay as you go electricity meter, but would like to hear from people who have it installed.
    Whats it like?
Does it cost any more than a bill?
And hidden costs? (like 1% or credit goes for meter rental etc)
Basically any info on weather its worth getting.
    Thanks

This may be different, its a top up meter for GAS from BG, its put in when yo are in arrears.

A friend has it, find out from BG where sells the top ups and then ask in the shop to make sure.
Stores can have the machine but not choose to sign up to sell BG top up.

The list they gave my friend was out of date, she has to get a bus weekly to a store 4 miles away to top up.

They will only give you a meter if you are in arrears. A percentage of your top up goes on the arrears eg
Buy €30 top up, €8 goes on arrears, €2 on standing charge and PSO and €20 goes on gas.

It will take ages to clear your arrears, like a year for €400, but the calls from BG will stop.
