I will never buy from them again. I ordered a set of tyre from them last Wednesday and didn't receive any update from them and I have to call them today (the numbers on the website is useless and so is the email, no reply. And go on to their UK site and get UK number to call), The lady told me that they will dispatch today, I asked her the warehouse number to check what's the story, she told me she can't give me the number.... they are internal numbers. I am wondering how this is happening, why this is happening, sounds very very doggy to me from what I see so far. I am of course very disappointed to them. I should really go with camskill at first place. I am ordering from eiretyre because they stated they have the tyres I want "IN STOCK", looks like they don't and not giving me update up front until I called them.

    Really angry now.

    Avoid them if you can.

how much cash are you saving over buying from a local tyre center?

or were they very specialist tyres you were looking for?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,907 ✭✭✭✭CJhaughey

I have ordered 4 sets from them and have never had a problem.
Bear in mind that you have also only had two working days since your order, Mine usually take about a week to get here.

In general we will deliver the tyres to you doorstep within 3 to 5 working days (please note that all delivery times are subject to stock availability). You will be notified by e-mail if we do not have your tyres in stock along with a date when we expect to have stock in again. When the goods are sent out, you will receive notification by e-mail. This e-mail will serve as your invoice and will also state the delivery date.

So in general tyres should arrive between today and next Wednesday, but it doesn't mean they can't arrive later.

Doggy tyres, is this a new brand?.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,704 ✭✭✭Cheensbo

Were you expecting a Sunday delivery or something?

There's nothing doDgy about eiretyres in my experience with them,

Think you need a little patience...

No need to slate a company that you haven't even had a bad experience with yet...

Yeah it seems like a bit of an over reaction. And expecting them to put you through to the warehouse is pretty laughable to be honest. What on earth you expected from that I just don't know.

BTW - there's another big online tyre provider in Ireland http://www.oponeo.ie
Did anyone used it, as I was thinking about getting tyres from them, but would like to see some reviews first....

  • Registered Users Posts: 124 ✭✭xlight

The things are I didn't get any update from them regarding my order whether if there is no stock or so. Just no information from them after order. Also seeing the payment not yet received in the order page and I asked them today, and told me that is confirmed last Thursday.

Worst service experience I had from online shopping so far. I am not willing to deal with those guy again.

    I am ordering run-flats

    Again look at that:

They will email you once tyres are sent.

I was looking for a set of tyres for the landcruiser a few weeks back.openeo were a good bit dearer than eiretyres who were themselves dearer than camskill.

Did not try oponeo yet (well, not in Ireland), but reviews are mixed, especially in terms of payment options.

Camskill.co.uk is another one worth to be looked at - ordered from them recently. Paid on thursday, sent on friday, delivered on monday.

Also, had no problems with eiretyres either - usually tyres delivered in 5-6 working days.

they don't have the tyre I want and quote the price well above what is on camskill and eiretyre. I know I am going to spend another 150 or so on fitting, balancing and alignment.

Oh yes - pricing varies. Some tyres are cheaper on eiretyres, some are cheaper on camskill and some are cheaper on oponeo.
I'd wonder only how is the experience buying from them.

I did, and I asked them last Thursday, and they told me they will send email to me once the tyres left warehouse. And when I bought the tyres, they are in stock as stated on their website. If they have issue with their stock, I am expecting they will send me an email regards the delay of delivery due to stock availabilities.

It's a new version released last year Hankook K117, camskill told me that they will not be available in UK until this summer or later. So I ordered from eiretyre.

Yes, I am a bit over reacted as very angry about the service I had. Don't you expect them to dispatch the tyre the next day or two at the latest when it is IN STOCK and get an email from them if any delays caused?

If I buy something online and it says it usually takes 3 to 5 working days to arrive, then I just wait for 5 working days, and if item is not here by then, I usually start looking up why.

However it never happened with eiretyres. I thing I always got tyres from then within 5 days. I can't remember what confirmations I got from them

I contacted them on Thursday morning last week as seeing the payment on the order page is "payment not yet received", they replied quite soon and saying that they confirmed the payment is successful and I will receive an email from the warehouse after the tyre left there.

From that email they sent, I am expecting the tyres will be ready on Thursday and dispatch on Thursday or Friday. (Again, when it is clearly said in stock, when do you expect them to be dispatched)

I'd say you were left pretty deflated after the whole experience. The wheels of these on line industries turn slowly. No rubber will be burnt in getting you any feedback. I'd say it would be a goodyear for them if they did get it right, but you are right to put pressure on them don't let them sidewall you at all. Fair play to you for starting this tread.

    eh....

Seriously i think you are being a bit impatient.I haven't used Eiretyres in years but over the years i've probably order 2 or 3 sets from them and never had a problem.

yes, they usually send me a confirmation after order, then a dispatch email.
    I never bothered calling them.
Even if you do get through to a warehouse what are you going to ask them?
Hi Its Xlight here, are my tyres ready?
They may not speak English or German for that matter, Tyres are picked off huge racks and wrapped and palletised.
They aren't set up to have personal interaction like your local tyre place.

I got some moto tyres from them, great price and reasonable speed delivery.
Using Moneybookers/Skrill was a bit of hassle but bank transfer is no problem once you can use the right account number.
I'd use them again for sure.

OK, I have to conclude why I am putting up this thread:
    1) The payment process is inconsistent (payment is confirmed but on the actual order page, it is 'payment not yet received', and still the same '...not yet received' now on the page)
    2) IN STOCK items takes more than 2 days or more to dispatch (And I am not sure if they will send them today or not)
    3) I didn't get email updates regards my order
    4) The contact information they provided on website is useless
    5) Put in a call back request but never get a call back from them
    6) I sent an email this morning and did not receive their reply (They come back quite soon when I ask them to confirm my payment but not when I asking them the delivery, that's leaves a bad experience)

I just want to share my experience. if you need something urgent, do not order from eiretyre.

If you need something urgently don't purchase it online where it states delivery is between 3-5 working days!

If you wanted them soon you should have gone to a local garage.

I hate to see the name of a good company dragged through the mud with a complaint that is absolute nonsense.

As said by others, 3-5 working days is their delivery target, day 6 is the day you should start contacting them, and then after that, when you get no satisfaction is when you could start a thread slating them.

Maybe I should change the Urgent to one level lower priority than that. I am ok of 3-5 days delivery, but the dispatch speed is way slow and that caused delivery to be more than 5 days...

Used them for my last set of tyres as they were slightly cheaper than camskill and eiretyres. That's the point of online buying to me anyway, save money. An email to both companies who wouldn't budge on price even tho camskill have this:

    http://www.camskill.co.uk/info/price_beater.php

They wouldn't drop their price by €2.50 a tyre to match...

Anyway Oponeo delivery was quicker than the other 2 companies from what I have experienced so far but that could have been just luck of the draw.

You still don't get what I am expecting.

First, I send them an email asking the payment, they replied quick soon (I have the timestamp on email)
Second, The email they sent with confirmed payment and saying I will receive another email from warehouse once the tyres left them.
The tyres are IN STOCK when I placed the order online last Wednesday. And it is not a popular tyre, run flat ones.
Third, I tried call them using the contact numbers on eiretyres.ie and both are useless (try those numbers first before you saying they are good and professional)
Fourth, I emailed them regards my order and get no reply yet.
Fifth, I finally have no patient to wait their email and called them (went on to their UK site), I am sorry for the lady who took the call, it's not her fault, and of course I am not blaming her on the phone, and just asking for an estimate date of delivery and she said she don't know. I know it will takes 3-5 days to delivery but the things are the tyres are not yet dispatched!

Can't you see the difference before and after they received the payment?

They don't care once they get the payment. Not good for any kind of business.

They should at least showed they care about their customer, the complains, etc...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,004 ✭✭✭ironclaw

Anything from the UK will take a week. By UPS or courier, maybe 3 days. And that's if its dispatched before say 4pm the day your order it. So if you ordered at say 2pm on Monday, the earliest I would expect the delivery is 5 working days later i.e. The next Monday. Then add to the fact that they do state it could take 2 to 5 days to ship in the first place. So really if you ordered on a Monday, I wouldn't be getting an ounce bit bothered until the next Wednesday.

I cannot see the problem here bar maybe someone in the office forgot to change the status of an order. And although it took some time, you eventually got your answer by phone. Your complaint is groundless and its people like yourself xlight who I hate to see coming in the door of any business. Your just out for a complaint over anything and potentially ruin a business's image.

    Back to very basic points.

    No confirmation -- OK
    No Email response -- OK
    No Update status -- OK
    No contact number -- OK

How are you going to make an enquiry if you are not able to reach them?

I get the contact number from UK site not IE site. That's should be fixed for IE site, don't leave a useless contact number.

Also won't you think about if you as a customer in the same situation? Hope you don't get into the same position like I had one day.

    How long did you wait?
I get the contact number from UK site not IE site. That's should be fixed for IE site, don't leave a useless contact number.

Irrelevant. They ship from the UK. So contact them directly in the UK. An informed purchaser will know all that before proceeding. There are plenty of examples where a company as a .ie domain but actually trades from the UK. Nothing wrong with it. And I'll again make the point, you eventually got in contact. There are times when email and phone lines fail, its not all that uncommon. Especially seeing as that number appears to be an internet / skype connection. Again, no uncommon in international business. And if you really wanted to get a ball rolling, why not just go to the parent? (http://www.delti.com/)
Also won't you think about if you as a customer in the same situation? Hope you don't get into the same position like I had one day.

What situation? I would have waited at least 5 days. Kept the cool and made some logical, level headed inquires. I then would have accepted the response and waited until delivery should have taken place. If my tyres hadn't arrived, I would have made some more calls.

If you need something desperately, either A) Go buy it locally or B) Ring them directly and organise your own express courier.

I still don't see the point your making. And there are plenty of people in this thread singing the same tune. Your incident was isolated and at least from my viewpoint has been dealt with in a fair manner.

And for the record, I have no affiliation with EireTyres. I just hate seeing people taking to the Internet to slate genuine private business's trying to make a living.

Eiretyres.ie despite the Irish internet domain name are German and afaik their stock comes from Germany so it is bound to take the bones of 5 working days to arrive. I've ordered from Camskills in the UK and they took 3 working days to arrive at my door.
