Should be of interest to regular posters on here that have an interest in local historical maps and townlands. This staggering collection of maps reveals the exact ownership of the lands taken by the Cromwellian Plantation of 1670 and also the 1890 Ordnance Survey.

The land survey carried out on Cromwell’s orders, the first of its kind anywhere in the world, has been researched and reproduced by TCD with stunning results measuring every inch of Ireland from the smallest parish to the biggest of the 32 counties.

The survey produces an incredibly detailed view of Ireland of the time have now been digitised and loaded on to modern-day Google maps to give a complete picture of ‘who owned what.'
