Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What's everyone's review on these? Worth the extra few quid?

It depends how much eyebrow hair you have, if you have over plucked or sparse brows then it's a waste of money as the henna that's used only sticks to the hair, so if there's not much hair there it's a waste if time and semi permanent make up would be a better option, hd brows have to be redone every few weeks so it can be quite costly

If you have sparse brows i heard of one girl getting fake hairs threaded into her brow line, but it costs you to do it.

I've done the hd brow for over a year. Looking back I wouldn't go again. I know of certain beautician shaping brows for €5 to €10, not over plucking it and letting the brow hair grow back. My brows look nothing like I expected it to look after over a year of hd treatment. I also have been burned with wax many times in the process (this could be due to terrible service though).
There is a girl in Naas that does great job from what I saw, refusing to overdo them. There is also one in Kilkenny I had my brows done with for 5 euro, looked much better after only one visit than after my usual hd go for €25.
I would say look for a good salon, will save you few yoyo's along the way.

I find it worth it as I have really bad natural bows, both shape and colour are crap :p The first time I went I grew my brows out for weeks so she had a lot to work with and basically gave me new brows. I only wish she had a cheaper rate for going every month, or a loyalty card system. I can't be affording to go every month!

Thanks for the replies! I generally have good eyebrows, not over plucked or anything! Beauticians always say they are a good shape. They just are too light in colour generally!

If it's only the colour that your not happy with you can buy eyebrow tint from Sally's or salon services, and do them yourself it's very easy to do and literally takes 5 mins, it's very cheap and available in 3 colours I darken my eyebrows once a week as my hair is dyed black so I love to keep my eyebrows dark too, it fades alot when you wash your face everyday so I find it handy to have the tint and do them myself it's very easy to do

    Good idea!

My eyebrows are so light naturally they are pretty much transparent :/

And anytime I've gotten them tinted (which was from a few different beauticians) it only lasts about 2 weeks...if not less.

Ya I was the same you can buy the kit with the tint, activating solution and brush and the little mixing bowl for under 20 euro and it will do you years as you only need a tiny amount to do the brows, there's loads of you tube videos on how to do it but it really is just a case of mixing up a tiny amount of tint with a few drops of solution and applying it to the brows and remove almost straight away, I use Vaseline around the brows to stop the tint staining the skin

If I could afford them I'd have them done every month. Got them done last year and my God, what a difference! So worth it but I just simply can't afford it.

You can get the kit in most Boots! Costs under 15 and lasts for months. I do mine every 2 weeks or so.

Just be careful if you have blonde brows like me- brown tint actually turns fair brows green so make sure you add some black to the mix.
Green brows are not a good look!

So I got HD brows for the first time today, I have to say I'm not overly impressed. When I left they looked really nice and full but after I took off all the make-up she had put in them, they really didn't look much different from what they had before, just slightly darker from the tint!

What I don't get is why they fill them in with pencil and make-up. Surely that just gives an unrealistic idea of what they look like. Plus unless you're going out that evening/night, why would you want your eyebrows filled in? Have to say I'm not seeing what all the hype is about....
