    Hi

Does anyone recall what a 2up2down cottage in Co Wexford (ok condition 1 acre) was selling for at the height of the boom . Its just that i'm thinking of buying one now and want to calculate how much they have fallen since the high.

    Thanks in advance

    Mark

what something sold for in the BOOM is of zero relevance to anything. Contemplating valuation as a percentage less than boom price is pointless and completely wrong.

Its worth what its worth. Boom values don't indicate that in any way shape or form. You want to buy one of these then understand the market, understand the demand, understand the asking priceses and sales values of other sales of similar properties and most importantly figure out what you would be willing to pay for one of these.

Then decide what you will offer. Don't go half assed into it and decide it was x in the boom so its y now.

Thanks DP3O, thats good advice. :)

It was a curiousity thing more than its worth this now because it was worth x.

You could try collapso.net and put in the address to see if anything similar was up before.

I'd agree with DP30 though, it won't do much more than satisfy your curiosity.

And bear in mind that collapso only records asking prices, not actual selling prices.

forget about them crazy times it will only muddy the waters when you are contemplating what the house is worth
