so far so good, i'm on my first full tank of gas.

there is a detailed thread here about LPG.

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056862926

you're right the autogas boys in cork are partners of the lads in tallaght.

the yellow dispenser symbol in cork on the map has their contact details.

best thing to do is to go and talk them and read up beforehand.

the guys are competent and know what their doing - go for a tank in the spare wheel well to save boot space - an 80 litre tank is available but can only be filled to 80% capacity for safety reasons.

picked up the car yesterday from kilkenny car complex. cliff is sound to deal with. had a drama changing over insurance they said they couldnt insure me because car is a jap import(which it isnt). eventually after about half an hour of bullsh*t they agreed to insure but wanted 140 euro for the pleasure. i got them down to 100 and told them to send me the bill which i intend to bring with me to local branch and tell them to stick it. anyway back to the car. cliff had a guy come and take all the little dings out of the side panels he did a great job. car was all polished up and looked great, serviced and he did all the little things he promised. drive home was a pleasure. loads of power and feels planted with the awd. surprisingly economical too, got about 37mpg out of it(adjusting for about 10% overestimation on dis). so far feels like much more of a drivers car than the a4. gear changes are precise, steering maybe a little on the lite side and the ride is firm without being crashy. just needs some proper rubber now.

Hello all. I'm considering the 3.0 H6 version of the a legacy wagon. Does anyone know anything about these very rare engines? 250Bhp sounds nice and I would be running it in the UK so no tax problems. It's that or a T5 Volvo V70. My budget it's about £3000 doing about 12000 miles pa. I'd consider gas conversion if it were worth it. These are a quality Q car in my opinion. I'm thirty, single and just think they're class. Plus I just finally found a decent job here so it's time to be good to myself. :-)

The H6 is a very sweet engine and I wouldn't hesitate to buy one if I could afford it. Just had a look at some info on a Subaru forum and feedback is very positive, especially about the Spec.B models, which are class in its own.

Regarding the LPG in H6 there should be no problem, same as in B4 engined models. The only thing to consider is the valve clearance service, which I would shorten to half of the factory specified mileage, which is 100k km.

Interesting and encouraging response Sew. I'm gonna be slow in making my decision and pick a nice 3l Subaru or a T5 Volvo. Both have approximately the same power. I am guessing both would cost the same to run with the Subaru slightly better reliability wise than the Volvo. I'm also considering a Lexus IS300. Only 211 horses but still a leftfield choice. I wouldn't consider the saloon though, only the wagon. Any choice would be a gas conversion as I can't stomach low twenties mpg.

    Nice choice to have :).

From between these three cars the Legacy would be the best driver's car with nicer handling than other cars and better traction thanks to AWD. Also the engine in Subaru should be the smoothest of the trio. But best would be to test drive them all and see which one you like most. Volvo makes also good estate cars, V70 especially. But it has less cylinders than H6 and it is only FWD as standard.

I've been gay for a T5 Volvo for a number of years. Subaru only came On the radar recently. I've had a wretched few years with depression, job loss, loads of other ****. Got a job now and settling in over here. Time to treat oneself. Budget three grand sterling, plus 1600 for gas conversion. Priorities are smart practical motor that looks decent with loads of spec and power. These types of motoring opportunities are disappearing. Big engines. Turbos, power four wheel drive, five cylinders, near 250 odd horses each. Reliable and both available in sexy estates if I take the time to find the right one. Perhaps two months. I'll try to report back. Fingers crossed. Love Volvo five cylinder warble.

Must admit I have a hankering for one of these for quite a while. Possibly the GT in estate form. IMO a real better alternative to the usual offerings form VAG and Toyota.
    Very popular here in NZ.

    Considering this :
