Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hey guys, Bought a BMW f650gs,brought it home and left the lights on overnight....2003 model

I have a trickle charger but can't find and not sure of the positive location for the battery?? There's no sticker to indicate and I've spent all night on Google and YouTube...none the wiser. I was to bring it out for first time on my only day off tomorrow which I now can't.

Embarrassed, can anyone point me in the right direction, I popped the seat off but can't see anything

    Thqnks

Are you looking for the battery or the positive terminal on the battery?.

from memory, so i could be wrong! take seat ff and remove the clutch side side panel, crouch down and about head height you should see a plastc cover with a hinge and clip on one side thats where the battery is

Battery is under the tank, or rather the faux tank. Remove front indicator cover on right hand side, then remove middle and right hand sections of the tank. This will give you access. Positive side is on right hand side, from memory. Fit a trickle charger when you are there, you dont want to have to take it all apart again down the line. :D

Yes you will have to remove the right side panel held with a couple of torx head screws....

Got the same bike...... Have you checked for the factory tool kit ?

Are you really in Zanzibar? If you were closer to Wicklow area I might be close enough to lend you the tools

Had one for two years and I can't answer the question. Literally never had any issues with it. Just get on and ride. And people question BMW's reliability!

Lets just say I could tell you a thing or two about the Honda I had before it.
