Anyone know what the story is with first round leader bets if they're tied?

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,996 ✭✭✭✭PopePalpatine

It'd be settled under dead heat rules.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,378 ✭✭✭HighLine

Kizzire is in at 2 under and can be still got at 200/1.

I know Koepka has not been good recently and had injures but I got him at 22/1 yesterday . For a man who recently was so dominate that's crazy value.

    It is Thursday though 😂

Big bet was Fleetwood but I think it is just because I like him🀣

I did him today for the win and first round leader.

What price did you get for Koepka to be the first round leader?

I did it in running after six holes, 16/1.

I'm not sure about Koepka. He's apparently lost 2 stone which typically results in a loss of form, although I know he was 2nd at the Honda. Plus the fact that he's primarily a fader of the ball would turn me off him a bit.

    Didn't I tell ye :pac:

It's people posting that they have someone backed as soon as they're in the lead that drives me mad! Unless they've posted it before the tournament of course
Well I backed McIlroy, Koepka as mentioned only recently, Matsuyama and Conners.
I only mentioned that I had Koepka backed when somebody else said they had him.
    I have Conners at 250/1.

Is there any after timing policy in here, no?

Yeah I had Koepka first round leader, 20k on, got him at 80/1 after he 3 putted the 8th. F**king sick when he missed the putt on 16, useless

I had Bryson to be tied leader on 6 under, thank god his 2nd at the last didn't drop in after hitting the pin:rolleyes:

    Probably not, here goes.
I backed Patrick Cantlay at about 110.
He scored so well yesterday you can now back him at 460s. :)

I had sandy Lyle to be top 20 after round 1 for a fiver. Only missed out by 2 shots.

I also had sandy to make the cut at 6/1
He missed it by 1 shot. Ragin!

Hope he tees up again next year. Great enjoyment out of those 2 bets

Added Justin Thomas to my stable this morning at 33/1 each way paying five places.
I have McIlroy, Koepka, Matsuyama, Conners and Thomas now.

I have Molinari, Day, Koepka, Scott, Oosthuizen, Johnson, Woods, Thomas and Schaufele. I'm in with a good chance I think.

That's a sensible option, it's generally won by someone from the WR25. Backing most of the available WR20 to finish within the top20 group mightn't be too crazy.

Will be focused on any movement on JT & Fleetwood during R3Live.

I backed Cantlay for first round leader so pity he didn't pull the 64 out of the bag on Thursday

Invariably.. I do however have DJ, Finau, koepka, Fowler, Xander , Louis.. most of which I posted few days ago

i got molinari at 43/1 and finau at 59/1. and i'd gladly lose both those to see the fireworks of woods wining again! so anyone but koepka basically! of course, could come from outside those 4 but i doubt it

I'd like to suggest that the mods introduce an aftertiming rule to this thread. It's extremely annoying and I guarantee that regardless of who wins tomorrow there'll be a load of lads coming on here afterwards saying they backed him.

    Just my 2c

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,053 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

You just ignore it. I don't understand why people get so upset over aftertiming. I just laugh at it.

First time posting in this thread but you're spot on. I follow this thread but haven't posted before.

It's general betting etiquette, brag all you want about your winner as long as you lay your cards on the table first. We can all pick a winner after the race is run.

If you are going to aftertime then you’re going to have to post a screenshot of your bet or it’s a warning.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,744 ✭✭✭MyPeopleDrankTheSoup

ahh my post did that. i never heard of aftertiming. i didn't know is it banned 'cos it's pointless talking about bets made after the fact or people BS. here's my screenshot anyway: 9PM1Nv7.png

Personally i don't think Rory will do anything, i actually think he'll miss the cut.
I backed Jason day , Brooks koepka and eddie pepperell each way, and the king tiger to win.
Good luck all, i love the Masters

    3 out of 4 !

A local bookie was telling my dad the other day they took a rake of bets on a 'Tiger double' in the Grand National and Masters. Gonna get badly burned:p

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,053 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

I'll be backing him in all the other majors this year. I'd expect 5/1 will be the best price now.

Bit of a bill for WillHills ops over there ($1,275,000).

Realistically, they probably took that into their pockets, from other folks backing another fav (Rory), or even Molinari.

Plumped for Xander at 35s and Cantley at 55s.

    Both small e/w bets.

    Bring the noise

Done with PP, I assume Cantley got in the places?

He was T9 so I assume you're safe, unless I'm mistaken he would've had to be T10 to dilute your winnings

    Also congrats

I think they were diluted. I certainly didn't get the full whack for rahm and fowler.

Yeah it was with PP who were paying out 10 places. I would have thought I would have gotten the full amount too. Apparently not though.

As far as I remember you should get back 2/3rds of what you would on a full place.

As there were 3 golfers in the 2 techinaclly 9/10 place spots

some bookies pay full but they are generally the smaller ones

Yeah, just checked the dead heat rules on the bookies website and that looks to be the case. Ah well, not the end of the world.

As an aside, I had Webb Simpson backed E/W . He finished -11 do I collect.
Docket said top 5 finish(dead heat rules apply)
