And wigan and west brom and Norwich.....

Don't think there is any point picking just one of them in the end Mariners performance kind of summed up the season for us worked hard and grafted for every single point no real luck.

when we have a player like huddlestone in the first 11 we cant be surprised at missing out on cl football to be honest. He's shocking

Fulham game is the only one that we really threw away. We had a few that went our way as well including the Liverpool home game and the Man U away game

The performance and draw against wigan were just as crucial, those two points dropped would have had spurs in 4th place

Yes but that was a decent result against a Wigan team that played well that night

doesn't matter about which game cost us cl football. Not buying a striker in January is what cost us. If we had of got a decent fella in it would've taken the wind out of arsenals sails

He was awful. When he was caught in possession in the first half he just turned around and kicked the air rather than try win it back

arsenal grinded out every result.7 1-0s. wigan, norwich, west brom. we threw games away and didn't grind out results.1 of their worst seasons and 1 of our best, still not good enough.and after losing their best player.7 points clear of arsenal,if a leader lost it to a 2nd place team you'd say they threw it away

Wasnt the 5-2 at Emirates that cost ye nah?

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,946 ✭✭✭SuprSi

True, a striker would've made a massive difference. Relying on Ade and Defoe has cost the team dearly.

Just checking out the table five losses in ourfirst 14 games then 3 in the last 22.

We have improved once the team got used to AVBs taxes and Dembele came back from injury.

Although we do really need a playmaker to help out creating chances can't keep relying on Bale to score.

Devastated! Hope thats not the last we see of Bale?

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,946 ✭✭✭SuprSi

Seriously mate why would he stick around to play in the Euro-Milk Cup?

He's a world class player surrounded by dross and a clueless foreign manager that doesnt understand English football.

Bring in Holloway, Hodgson or Neil Lennon, guys that understand the Premier League.

Wow, you spent all that time registering to post that tripe?! Good job!

Surely with ye not getting CL football he'll now move on to bigger and better things.

The one consolation for Spurs is Levy will get top dollar for him if he does leave.

Well, that remains to be seen. To be fair, we can't complain if he does go. He's practically the sole reason we challenged until the last day - without him we would have been out of the running many months ago.

Still, he seems like a grounded lad, seems to like it at Spurs and might want to give the club one more season. He deserves to be in the CL but he's still young so might give us another chance!

Sorry Villas Boas is clueless in the English game. Fans want to see home grown managers that understand, and hate Arsenal like Spurs should.

Hodgson, Holloway and Lennon are the top names now . All top level experienced and homegrown.Neil Warnock is also available and knows the game inside out, especially English football. More than Villas Boas anyway, the clown.

Your not gonna last long..where is hatch or mullo when ya need them

Fair play to Arsenal, They did enough to get CL next season. Of course I'm seriously dissapointed that we gave them the chance to get back into it after beating them and going seven points clear. No point crying over spilt milk. We have to be man enough to take the slagging.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,081 ✭✭✭ziedth

I'll give Aresnal full credit, they have gone on some run again when it counted. They fully deserve it.

I'm disappointed now but happy with the season.

It's been a pleasure watching Bale every week. Wherever he ends up I hope he wins a good bit. he's a class act.

Anyway, I'm avoiding the forum for a few days till the influx of knobbery blows over.
