My current passport expires in August 2014 and I do not plan to go to Canada until the end of this year or start of 2014 which means I need a new passport before I go…

Hi!

I was just wondering as I'm finding it hard to get an answer from any embassy etc, but I received a visa for Canada that will expire in April 2014. My current passport expires in August 2014 and I do not plan to go to Canada until the end of this year or start of 2014 which means I need a new passport before I go (because of the not being able to travel if passport is within 6 months of expiry), does anyone know what will happen my visa if I get a new passport and passport number seeing as my visa is based on my current passport and number?
