Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi folks,

Tryin to organise a stag for Nov in Eindhoven. I know it's a bit of a random spot but it seems cheap and it's somewhere different. Anyone ever been? Suitable for a stag?

    Cheers
    Niall

Eindhoven's a great spot for a stag, was there twice and had a ball.
It's a university city so theres great nightlife,
Stratumziend(spelling) is the main strip with around 50 bars on it,everything from reggee to heavy metal themed bars here.
Just off the main sq theres a large irish bar,its right next door to the main casino too if you fancy a flutter.
The area around the train station is more upmarket, restaurants and trendy bars etc.
We went to the phillips stadium to watch PSV play,It was winter and the roof was closed and was a good experience, you're allowed have a beer while watching the game:).They do special packages for foreign visitors.Just e-mail them when next seasons fixtures come out.
    hope this helps.

Too many "smokes" while you visited Eindhoven? PSV stadium doesnt have a roof :D

OP, I am Dutch and too be honest, Eindhoven would be very low on my list for an evening out.
If you dont want to go for the standard place, Amsterdam, i will not blame you as i hate that place with a passion.
But there is still Maastricht (short train journey from Eindhoven) and Groningen (better fly with ryanair to Bremen and take the bus to Groningen) which are much nicer places than Eindhoven.

If its drinking in a bunch of bars your after then Stratumseind is perfect.

The night train in Brabant no longer runs since last month so going boozing in another city and coming back in the wee hours of the morning is no longer an option.

How about you do some stuff during the day ?
How many people are going ?

Utrecht is only 50 minutes away, perhaps do something like this:

    2.5 hours sailing

    € 139.00
    5 hours sailing

    € 259.00

Immerse yourself in the historic center of the cathedral city with its ancient canal houses and cellars. With up to 26 man you snuggle you on the comfortable sofas of an original life boat, a boat with canopy option. Even in the rain is so dry you. Besides the Old Canal will this tour you also carry on the outside webbing, after which you neatly pulls up to the Old Canal. Sloop Hire Utrecht also offers a wide range of catering, which you can use for an additional fee. Make this with your reservation as famous. SloepHurenUtrecht.nl has a fleet consisting of three types of boats of different sizes. The skilled skippers will make you the most beautiful places in Utrecht show. Besides this canal tour through Utrecht can SloepHurenUtrecht.nl with other treks in and around the city of Utrecht. Furthermore, you can also leave the full cater to thereby experience. An all expenses trip

At least then you can show the women pictures and say you did something other than getting hammered.

Also if your into smoking weed, that's still a no go for non residents all over Brabant and Limburg.

    Some good bars in Eindhoven:

    http://www.bierprofessor.nl
https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Little-One-Bar/193800534003242 (Its frikkin tiny, but much better than the Irish bar across the road)

If you want to do some go karting theres a place in Woensel.

Also bowling in the same area:

Another option would be to rent a car for the day, easiest would be from Eindhoven Airport, theres also a pickup in the Center, but the Airport is usually cheaper, depends on how many of you there are.

If your into war stuff there's probably one of the best war museums not so far away in Overloon
    http://www.oorlogsmuseum.nl

And the Wings of Liberation Museum in best - good bit closer and reachable by bus.

A bit further a field in Valkenburg you can do some cave biking, also possible to do on a Quad :)

Or you could do a Brewery ?
http://www.croybier.nl/ - We did this and it was excellent, got a small meal and a rake of beer for a tenner, had to book in advance though.

That's a great help, thanks folks! There will be about 20 of us travelling. I was looking at the holiday inn or the 3BE hostel for somewhere to stay. Both reasonable price and central location. Any other suggestions for accommodation for a large group?
