Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Should have been McGeady on the right and McClean on the left... but Trap seems to like Walters for some reason!

Would probably play him in goal ih he had too.

(If Walters is to play, it should be up front; definitely not on the right)

I dunno, I think the likes of McClean would make a good impact sub and Walters of playing on the left will be up against Johnson so a bit if a tussle down the flank and Walters could out muscle Johnson.

Still sick of 442 but with Trap it was never going to be anthing else (Im just glad Long is starting ahead of Sammon, who I would say will get a run out at some stage)

Pitty Hoolihan isnt on from the start, but Im glad Myler isnt starting. Dont get me wrong, I have high hopes for the lad, but from what I have seen, his possession has been shocking.

Is Clarke injured or just out of favour?
He could have played CB tonight as he would have had at least a few games this season, however I like Sledge and he always puts in a peeformance

    Come on Ireland

Based on this season I'll take Walters over McClean all day long

I'm looking forward to watching it, but at the same time can't help think it's going to be a pretty **** game with mass changes.

The big English clubs have shifted pre-season tours up in the calendar for this year, so most will only play 45-50 minutes tonight before England start rotating like mad.

Brady should be in over McGeady and Hoolahoop in over Keane.

Amazed there's still people who think McClean should be a starter.

    Cmon England!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,843 ✭✭✭crushproof

Seriously hope both teams will put in an big effort, hopefully won't be a dull friendly although I can see there being a mass sub frenzy in the 2nd half.
I'm going for a draw, I sound ridiculous saying this but I think we can scrap a win if we're lucky. In that case I hope there's no staunch EDL chappies in my local.

    this is doing the rounds

England XI: Hart; Johnson, Jagielka, Cahill, Cole; Carrick, Lampard; Walcott, Rooney, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Sturridge.

Apparently the ref is Willie Collum from Scotland. I expect a penalty for England and a string of dubious decision in Englands favour

I expect the offside rule to be ignored on several occasions, penalties awarded whilst his back to play without consulting other officials and generally several attempts to be the centre of attention.

Scottish Referees rarely have good games under pressure.

Dodgy ref. He give penalties even when he doesn't see the incident.

Yes because Scotland is at least British and Loyalist.

English and Scottish people fight and die in the same army. A Scottish person, naturally will show more sympathy towards their protestant cousins.

Townsend referred to Ireland as "we" .

    Usually calls England "we"

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 1,332 ✭✭✭desaparecidos

Oh so now "we" to Andy Townsend means Ireland!

Half of them are English. Want to play for this country and don't want anything to do with the anthem. It just a pastime.

Be even nicer to see a 'Welcome to Wembley' tackle from Walters on Cole :pac:

Not everyone born in England wants to play for England. Kevin Kilbane for example.

It's weird how use I became to not playing them, just took it as a fixture that will never happen, 18 years, seems like only 5.

How come England are wearing a German kit?

What a difference a year makes. 3 minutes gone and no goals conceded.

Easy for him to say knowing he was never likely to get a call up.
