Hi all staying in the above hotel tomorrow, is there any good restaurants close by for 3 lads to get a good feed and a few pints?

    Porterhouse is close by.

It is about a 5 minute walk from the city centre, so spoiled for choice.

Porthouse/Woolshed (persoanlly I think the food in these places is crap, but ok for snacking)
    Soho
    Sober Lane
    Electric
    Bodega
    Pav

    Loads.

That's on the western road... fairly studenty there. You could probably eat in the hotel itself... I've never eaten there but it's bound to be fine.
The nearest restaurant is cafe paradiso, but I don't think that's what you're looking for. It's fairly posh vegetarian food.

If you walk into the city a bit you'll have Liberty Grill, which is very popular. Big burgers, american food, that kind of thing. It will be busy on a friday, might need to book or wait.

If you come in another bit, Electric is a pub which does food. Menu's here.

Yuan ming yuan is a good chinese in the city center.

Cafe Serendipity is closest, across the road from the hotel. it's very nice. I'd start there and head to the Porterhouse for pints afterwards. Or just eat in the porterhouse, it's not as fancy but does nice food.

http://libertygrill.ie/ is fab, I highly recommend it for breakfast if you're not availing of the hotel breakfast.

Sober Lane and Electric are also bars and are great for dinner and a few drinks afterwards. They're not more than a 5-10 minute walk from your hotel. The Cornstore is very nice too.

Cheers all, this is a great help....
Was defaulting toward Luigi's or scuzzi's (not my choice) but sure always good to know what people think who know the area.
Think we have the breakfast included but if not we'll motor into Liberty for sure, thanks for the tip

Another vote for Electric here. Went there for the early bird 2 weeks ago and was very impressed.

I've eaten in the hotel a few times but it's quite expensive and there's nothing hugely special about the food.

I'd definitely recommend Liberty Grill (5 mins walk down Washington Street) and Sober Lane is unreal as well but always quite busy and many of the tables are reserved when you walk in. Electric is nice too. Also Tung Sing on Patrick St does lovely Chinese food.

If you don't like any of those there's always trusty McDonalds... :(

For a "good feed and pints" I'd go for Soho. The Woodford is a great pub that does great food too.

Liberty Grill is a class restaurant but I'm not sure it's what 3 lads who want a good feed and pints would be looking for. Ditto Electric, unless you can also get food downstairs in the bar, in which case I'd recommend there.
