Is there a demand for this type of service?

A friend is trying to set up a supplementary type care/assistance service to take elderly people out shopping or do their shopping for them, take them to medical appointments or even pet vet visits. Services would include bringing them to hospital getting them settled and when discharged bringing them home again.. Obviously they will have proper car insurance etc.
The services are the kind of things that family would normally do but may not be in a position to do for all kinds of reasons, such living away, holiday times, work/family commitments or just no close family at all. The payments would be income tax deductable!
Your thoughts and ideas would be most welcome.

    Thanks

    Peter
