2010 saw John Heckle break into the international consciousness with the release of his much lauded “Life on Titan” EP on the Chicago-based Mathematics label. Since then he has further impressed with a string of productions and remixes for labels such as Tabernacle, Creme Organisation, Apartment, and Signals, not forgetting his acclaimed debut LP “The Second Son,” again, on the aforementioned Mathematics. His collaborative project with fellow Liverpudlians Mark Forshaw and Binny; “Phantom Planet Outlaws,” has also had a 12” recently released by Tabernacle.

Along the way he has been the subject of countless features on the various relevant internet sites, including the “Breaking Through” column of Resident Advisor. His debut single earned him a Quartz 8 Discovery reward; no surprise as he has consistently received glowing reviews for his production efforts, while his performance for the Boiler Room gives an idea of the sheer energy the man is capable of radiating in a live capacity.

Indeed, the demand for both his live and DJ sets has seen to it that he has appeared at the best clubs and festivals in Europe, and this Summer sees this continue with a return date at Freerotation and a debut at Croatia’s Dimensions Festival in September.

He makes a welcome return to these shores when he plays an extended DJ set at Factory, Galway for Epoch on Saturday June 8th. Support comes courtesy of resident Colin Finnegan, and a night of quality House and Techno selections is hot on the menu.

Admission is only €5 before midnight/ €8 thereafter, and doors open at 10.30pm.
