    Hi,

I'm just wondering if anyone else has had experience with this kind of ad.

    http://www.myhome.ie/rentals/brochure/7-harcourt-st-south-city-centre-dublin-2/2511827

I've e-mailed the landlord, and I've been skeptical from the start (600/month on Harcourt street seems too good to be true).

I got a reply, landlord lives in London, wants the deposit and monthly rent into the bank account etc. but said they wanted to use Moneybookers so we could both be sure we're not getting scammed...

Now, I'm not an idiot; I haven't paid them any money and I'm trying to work out how legit this is and I've said I want to view the apartment before I make my mind up...

Has anyone had any experience with this kind of thing?

Total scam, they try this crap on every property renting place in the world, had the same shíte when I was moving back to Sweden, saw an ad, knew the area and the address and the rent was like 1/4 of what you'd normally pay and got the usual "I'm currently living in Madrid blah blah send me 1 months deposit and i'll send you the keys". Sly bastards!

check out some of the more recent posts on this thread - it seems to be a common enough scam at the minute.

    Landlord abroad.
    Unusual payment method.
Room layout and finish incompatible with Georgian house.
    Windows wrong size and placement.
    Ceiling probably wrong height.
    Probably a few other inconsistencies.
But most of all, rent price is far too good to be true.

Really bad form for my home to leave this ad up. I reported it as fraudulent 4 hours ago.
