Be honest, was it better than a Tayto bar?

I love the popping candy one, I am worse than any child!!! :D

MW You are aware that SA store will be inundated with Irish chocolate lovers by lunch time tomorrow, they'll have to start giving you a commission :D

Indeed, Cadburys are dreadful. Pretend chocolate for people with impaired tastebuds.

I nearly dropped my monacle into my Montrachet reading this thread, "milk" chocolate indeed. Jeeves! fetch my ivory backscratcher this mink coat is making me itch.

I laughed so hard at the above, it's so bloody true- people will find anything to be snobbish about! :pac:

In saying that however, and I'm normally a different strokes for different folks kinda guy, but I was in the local spar this morning and saw these bars, thought of this thread and thought "Why not?", but then I saw the price- 70c for I think a 65g bar?

I was curious, but not that curious that I could justify daylight robbery! Not to mention the "new shape" caramel bars that are exactly the same shape as the "old" ones, what's that about?

I'll wait till I can get into Tesco later and buy one of the €1.67 bars, better value and at least I can share it with my son without feeling like does he have to take the bit out of my mouth every time I buy a treat for myself! :pac:

I'd rather not, they have a bad reputation when it comes to hygiene and salmonella.

Different company own them since then, Kraft bought them in 2009/10.

Dropped the "S" Now say "Cadberry" in every ad.. :(

The popping makes my mouth feel weird.

Tried the 3 local shops this evening and couldn't get one.. All sold out :( I'm dying for one now

Cookie nut crunch one is delish but not unlike anything I've had before, it's not exactly groundbreaking or anything.

The Popping Candy and Jelly piece one though, oh my god..fecking brilliant, just..so so nice. I'm on a pretty strict diet and these bars coming out is just not what I need as I've only one cheat day a fortnight!

Tried the popping candy with jelly bits one.

They're nice and all but it's strange finding a jelly in the middle of chocolate.

Out of stock in my local shop. I'm having withdrawls :/

I drew a blank in Tesco earlier as to what bars I was supposed to be looking for, then couldn't find this thread to remember the name. Thanks for bumping Thwipl! Have it written down now :o

I bought one of each of the big bars in Tesco today. I 'm looking forward to trying them. Would it be bad to have one instead of dinner?! :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,533 ✭✭✭the keen edge

I bought one today; due largely to the recommendations from this thread.

Much prefer the old classics tbh.

Had the popping candy one - it was yum! I like Cadbury's anyway and it was nice to have some with a bit of a difference. There's not much of the bar left now :)

Where in hell did you get it?

I searched high and low in town yesterday and the popping candy one couldn't be got, so I'd to get the last cookie crunch one in Dunnes as they'd none in Tesco! It's a bit, well, "meh-tastic" to be honest about it :(

BUT, I also picked up a "Limited Edition Cadburys Dairy Milk Strawberries and Creme"...

Oh sweet jesus it was like an orgasm in a wrapper! :D

Sorry if it's been mentioned before, but where in Dublin can you buy the Tayto bar?
