Why doesn't Newbridge acknowledge Kathleen Lonsdale

She was born in the town and contributed alot to X-ray_crystallography and there is a particle named after her 'Lonsdaleite'. In Limerick University there is a building named after her. Most people in the town don't even know who she is or what she did. The only acknowledgement is a tiny plaque on the building she was born.

I emailed a local Councillor about it.The house she grew up in is up for sale perhaps if was bought by the estate and turned into a museum of sorts. More than likely never happen but it would benefit the town and county imho

Why? There is little interest in her from the general public. The cost of turning the house which is currently only for let would far exceed the revenue brought in by the "museum".
