Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi Boardies,

    I will be in Dublin on Monday night May 27th and would be interested in doing a Photo Walk with like minded photographers.

    Anybody interested give a shout here and a walk can be arranged to suit everybody.

    Cheers in anticipation.............

    Where about were you thinking?

  • Registered Users Posts: 156 ✭✭kenwood

    Hi Tallon,

    Have open mind, I have been on a few before and we covered Christchurch, Temple Bar, Four courts. On another we did the Aviva, Dodder River, Gasworks area and then did the Custom House, Quays, and O2 on another occasion.
    I don't mind doing one of these again or doing another route.
    Have you a route you'd like to do?

    Denis

    Hi Denis, I hope to make this walk. What time do you expect to start out at? It doesn't get dark until 10ish so should be a nice daylight walkabout.
    Cheers and will confirm nearer the 27th.

    I'll have my swimming gear with me on Monday so not bringing the DSLR but if I can tag along with my G15 then I might be up for it.

    So long as everyone promises not to bring any steel wool with them :pac:

    I'd love to join as well.

    @megapixel
    @Ben de bus
    @johnnybangbang
    @TTWNF

    All welcome guys, and STEEL WOOL is banned lol

    Anyone have preferences on where to start...........

    Denis

  • Registered Users Posts: 151 ✭✭jonnybangbang

    No preference personally, but where are we starting?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,129 ✭✭✭Ben D Bus

    How about TCD? Absolutly nothing to do with the fact that's where I'll be swimming on Monday :D

    Maybe through the college, out onto Lincoln Place (or Pearse St) and on to Merrion Square and beyond?

    Just a suggestion. I can be anywhere city centre by 8pm.

  • Registered Users Posts: 156 ✭✭kenwood

    Hi,
    @ Johnnybangbang ; how about the Custom House steps about 8 pm.?

    Denis

  • Registered Users Posts: 151 ✭✭jonnybangbang

    Since I really don't mind where we go and since Kenwood started this tread. the customs house it is.

    8pm?

    Think I'll tag along to this!

    I hardly need my tripod?

    May pop in myself. I find the best time that you need a tripod is when you don't bring one with you :P

    I didn't bring a tripod (and I only brought my compact camera), so I'm virtually guaranteeing you all some excellent tripod using opportunities :)

    Hi Boardies,

    A tripod is essential if your doing long exposures. Maybe one could use a wall or some other object but I find one is handy, especially for night time shots

    Weather is bad down here this morning but it is to clear so hoping it will as the day goes on..........

    Good morning all,
    Have we finalised a starting point yet?

    I'd completely forgotten that I had something else planned for this evening so it's most unlikely I'm going to make it :(

    Great night last night. We were blessed with the weather.

    Really enjoyed meeting some boardies last night and learning plenty about photography. Thanks to everyone for sharing your expertise and advice, and thanks to kenwood for arranging. Here are some of my meagre efforts:

    Great shots from the walk, sorry I missed it but my local weather was wet and miserable so thought it would be too wet in town also. Well done all, hope to meet on another walk.
