Windows know their breaking Googles policy and relations between the two isnt great. Cant really blame Google when a company is breaking their policies of usage.

Why cant Google just ask Microsoft to amend their Youtube app so its plays within the rules???

Seems a more simple solution to me

MS claims it did it because Goog won't give them the APIs.
like kids in the schoolyard. Metro tube is a far superior app IMO

They can't because they aren't giving them access to their advertising APIs. The ball is firmly back in Google's court now

Thank goodness for Metrotube. It was what saved me from going crazy with Google refusing to associate with Windows Phone in any way.

Looks like Microsoft are not going to comply with google and are going to take them to court. Microsoft said they would be happy to include the advertising but need google to give them access to their api's.

The letter stated that the Microsoft-made app violated YouTube’s terms of service by stripping out ads and letting people download videos

Isn't it funny how Google doesn't have a problem with Firefox add-ons that allow you to do the exact same thing,

May have something to do with this http://www.businessinsider.com/google-is-paying-300-million-a-year-for-firefox-placement-2011-12

Is it illegal to strip ads from content though at all? Wouldn't those ad removing Digital Boxes be under the same laws? Or Adblock?

Let us not forget that MS are yet to open up Skype for other chat applications to connect to it. Meanwhile, Google have opened up Google Talk to 3rd party application connectivity.

MS are not saints with interoperability.
