Has anyone bought a hard copy of this book in Dublin? I'm looking to buy it as a gift for someone and haven't got time to buy it online. Cheers

Books unlimited have it listed on their site here
If they still have shops they might have it in stock but you'll pay through the nose for it!

Been working my way through his youtube channel recently. Ball under the hamstring, which I came across before but never tried, is bloody excellent; I'm going to start putting balls all over my body (no homo).

I thought he was terrible on Joe Rogan pod.

He seemed to constantly go off topic and just talk a lot of noise without actual concise points. The books may very well be good but on Joe Rogan he sounded like a used car salesman.

This is my main annoyance with starrett, he know his stuff but has basically lifted loads of fairly standard physio therapy techniques then renamed them in ways that its impossible to read up or credit them properly.

One thing he said he'd go back to but didn't was why stretching is bad. Did he explain why in the book?

guys, come on, i haven't get that far in yet. Spoiler that ****.

Im going to take a stab at why stretching is bad, let me know if im on the right track please.

His main points are usually to concentrate on mobilising a movement, rather than mobilising a muscle. Would static stretching weaken the muscle in the same way stretching a band makes it weaken? does it cause damage to the connection of the muscles? is it because stretching a muscle won't increase the athletic mobility in the same way stretching the whole movement would?

in the podcast when he says stretching is bad, is there a context?

Rogan and his sidekick were very annoying.

Don't get me wrong I enjoy listening to Starett, I just think I'm so used to seeing him do stuff while talking that it wasnt the same without the visual aid.

I would advise purchasing the amazon option. Purely based on price.

stealing is wrong. And hanleys point is that he has given 100's of hours of help online for free. it's a bit low to encourage the free trade of his book.

honestly, out of all the exercises this has been the most difficult.
I get into braced position (what I think is braced position) then catch my self in the mirror and im usually lumbar extended or titled pelvis. My body and brain seem to not want to agree on anything.

Brian Redban (Rogans co-host) is a muppet and I wish Rogan would stop putting him on the podcast.

Ya Rogan has some dodgy friends, he gets on great with Alex Jones who is a tit.

Do many people listen to the London Real? very interesting quests.

It just arrived at my desk.

Listened to an hour-long podcasted interview with Kelly Starrett the other morning and sounds like it's a snip at €35.66 (bookdepository).

My advice would be don't bother looking for a pattern in the book (ie: Monday do this, Tuesday do this etc) and just find your own method of implementing the stuff in the book.

I glanced through it so far and had just planned to implement what I could into what I'm doing to improve it rather than let it dictate what I did and when.

    If that makes sense.

    that's what it does

take one exercise or take 50, its not a routine or plan, its to add to what you are already doing.

Unless you are doing nothing, then just do the lot.

It looks like I misread the earlier post about a pattern in it.

    I won't look for one.

I'll just use it make the transition from leper to leopard.

I've barely had a chance to read this but the small bit I've read has made such a difference,I think. Feel more stable in the squat, more solid in the bench and my shoulders better set up on any exercise that involves shoulder action. This book is a thing of beauty. Plus, I think I'm now ok with deadlifting a child out of a crib. My brother will be glad to hear that...

Now's time for the leopard to earn it's...spots. Turns out i've hips as supple as six-month-old chewing gum. So the physio did some work on that. But I was waiting for him to start singing 'Stuck In The Middle' before slicing my ear off. On the plus side, there's a world of difference between the before and after.
