Online shopping software?

Currently looking at a side project which will require some online shopping cart software.

Wondering what people's opinions are. Is it better to maybe go with a Wordpress site with ecom capabilities or one of the big ones like shopify/big commerce/volusion?

Haven't really got the money for a custom job so it's going to have to be a template site for now.

I can't fault Volusion if you want an online store with the usual functionality up and running quickly. Stay away however from them however if there is anything remotely custom that you need, as they lock down the majority of the code, which you'd expect I guess. It is very customisable from a design perspective and quite good value for the offering.
