Retired , young energetic couple giving serious consideration to Motorhoming in Southern Europe to escape the Winter blues.

Has anyone ever done this? What have the experiences been like? Recommendations? Places to go? Recommended Motorhome?

What are the pitfalls? Costs? . Certainly would not miss the weather at home!

We've been away for periods of up to five months over the past eight years, clocking up well over a thousand nights and 80k kms, most of it 'off season' to avoid hight prices, crowds, heavy traffic and weird summer weather.

For the most reliable good weather the western Med is best, southern Spain and The Algarve area of Portugal, If you are feeling really adventurous how about the Atlantic coast of Morocco (same latitude as The Canary Is.)

For long stay a price of between about €280 to €400 per month is offered by campsites depending on location and facilities. EXAMPLE 1, EXAMPLE 2, EXAMPLE 3, but less than €200 per month is possible in Morocco.
