Was driving up sheriff street today at about 12.20, towards the 5 lamps. The traffic was at a standstill. Eventually when I got to the five lamps, the whole area up towards the strand cinema was cordoned off by the guards. They were everywhere.

I asked a bystander what the story was and he said it was a bomb. Any one hear anything?

I saw the Army Bomb Disposal going through Kilmainham at full belt with a Garda escort at about 9:20PM this evening also.

If I was guessing I'd say someone potentially stumbled upon an unexploded WW2 device.

In any case, they were gone at 7.30pm when I was walking home.

Just as an aside to it and seeing as I walk past it everyday; its a crying shame the way they've let the memorial garden deteriorate there.
