Travel Insurance - Ambluance Cover- Oz

    Hey Guys and Gals,

    Im heading to oz in sept on a working visa,and im not looking into insurance.
    Someone told me that becouse im from ireland im covered with medicare for emergencies and not to bother, but athers said to get the insurance any way and to make sure it had ambluance cover....

    Which has resulted in a very confussed girl as no insurance says anything about ambluance cover :/ anyone have any experence :?

    Get insurance before you go, if anything happens to you over there youll be up **** creek with no insurance, the health care system will only help you if you have Medicare or insurance or very deep pockets!!!
    Your insurance will cover everything from ambulance to what ever you need.
    But make sure you pick the proper insurance remember cheapest isn't always the best.

    I went to A&E last month - no charge.
    Were on the list of countries that have the agreement for free hospital treatment or something like that.

    Your entitled to free emergency care but nothing else, if you need to be brought home our any major surgery etc your f..ked unless you have the right insurance.
    Google free health care in Australia for irish citizens and it tells you all about it.
