Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

How the FCUK did lacey miss afoa being held off the ball there?

Seemed to look at it more than once as well

Who was that hanging on to Afoa? Heaslip ran straight into his own man in the build up

    Healy?

    Wtf was Afoa doing

Trying to get Healy off him to defend his line. Healy should have been penalized for that

Ulster fans booing the kicks, sad really.

This is infuriating! Absolutely infuriating. Healy clearly holding afoa and he ignores that?

there was also obstruction in the build up there, someone blocked heaslip being tackled.

    pathetic from lacey.

A munsterman in lacey is leinster's motm at the moment -who'd have thought it? :D

Healy getting away with murder there.

Thing is if Afoa stamps on him, its Afoa who gets a Red card or cited.

Refs need to cut that out.

However, the penalty was before that when Best was clearly off his feet so wouldn't have changed the score.

Lacey has been very generous to us. Maybe a 6 point swing or so.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,820 ✭✭✭BionicRasher

Jeez that's a penalty for ulster

    Heaslip in at the side
    Accidental offside
And players being held off the ball

Leinster definitely getting the rub of the green

Fcukin disgraceful carrying on by the fans

Ah they'd boo anything up north. It's the mating call of an ulster rugby fan

Leinster get away with murder in that regard. A huge amount of their rucking involves going past the ball and interfering with the opposition; it obviously comes from the Kiwi coaches. They've yet to find a ref who pings them for it.

Ulster being a bit unlucky on the calls do far. Even for Jenning's try I thought it looked like it was truck and trailer.

EDIT: scratch that, they actually kept contact the whole time, thought they didn't first time

    Really?

I've enjoyed it, great atmosphere contributes to it as well.

Its what ulster fans appear to do. Boo everything that doesn't go their way.

No excuse for punching and stamping on someone. He's lucky not to see at least yellow imo.

    Game is good.

    pity about the ref.

Very physical, some serious collisions but considering the sides involved I thought it would involve more open running rugby.

I'm probably being a bit harsh though

I have to agree. I'd say I'm appreciating it (eg Leinster's defence) rather than really enjoying it.

Lacey the ref is doinv Ulster no favours. He doesnt seem to want a contest at the breakdown.
    Why isnt Henderson playing?

In fairness though, Chris Henry should have been off for 10 minutes and Diack should have scored. So Ulster can't blame the ref for everything!

He's behind Diack in the pecking order.

Diack has been Ulsters best player over the last two months

Think Nick Williams has been kept quiet. Leinster tackling him around the ankles like the Welsh do to SOB.

not his fault for everything, but he has definitely incorrectly gifted Leinster points and incorrectly prevented us the chance to score points at the other end.

Painful to see diack try that 360 over the line

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,820 ✭✭✭BionicRasher

First try looked truck and trailer definitely

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,816 ✭✭✭Tigerandahalf

Henderson should be playing. Poor selection choice from Ulster.

I wouldnt expect two well matched sides to be playing open flowing rugby, when both are defending equally well.

It's not. Diack is actually playing well bar the absolute butchering of that try

Not at all. Diack has completely earned his place for Ulster this season.

And the selection in the row has more than paid off, pure power in the scrums.

Ulster were lucky to not have an early yellow, and Afoa could easily have seen red. Ulster can't have too much complaint about the ref.

Nah it wasn't, it wasn't the tightest bind but it was still bound imo. Never see that given as truck and trailer at any level.

Afoa see red? For trying to shake Healy off?

    You are having a laugh!

He didn't hit him half hard enough.

Two strong defences (discipline aside) cancelling each other out.

Afoa was dead right to punch him, a yard out from his own line trying to stop a try and a fella hanging off him illegally. Should have been a penalty against Healy

In the middle of ulster fans here in the north stand. The ref is coming in for some abuse.

  • Administrators Posts: 54,110 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

Healy knew what he was doing, he was illegally preventing afoa from getting involved in defense.

no way was that ever a red.

RTE blind, that was in from side and nearly took Madigans head off

Afoa was definitely a bit stupid but he had to shake Healy off somehow. Very harsh penalty; McFadden should have been penalised.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37,978 ✭✭✭✭irishbucsfan

Ah it was just a bit of argy bargy, no one should have been carded. Healy was being smart and Afoa was trying to stay involved.

Very long advantage. Lacey is horrible.
