Hi, Wasn’t sure on the best place to post this so please feel free to move… so, just moved to a new house (https://maps.google.com/?ll=53.365816,-6.995974&spn=0.029039,0.084543&t=m&z=14) and the mobile signal outside and in is rubbish. Sadly rural Ireland isn’t great for comms.

Looking at http://www.askcomreg.ie/mobile/siteviewer.273.LE.asp under side ID KE020, I appear to be about 4Km as the crow fly’s from the nearest mast site. The main building is about 20m above the rest of the buildings so I was looking at buying a booster and mounting it inside the roof or outside.

Has anyone got any recommendations or suggestions?
As most of the buildings are either log or standard bricks & mortar…

    Thanks

AFAIK thats the only solution you can legally get, and indeed requires a good BB connection.

GSM broadcasting is heavily licensed, only the networks are allowed to do it and in their own bands. The repeaters you see online are illegal and are subject to being seized by customs. Dont know what kind of trouble you'd get into if COMREG decided to come a looking(doubt they would, but still).

That site is GSM only. Try setting your phone to GSM only. KE 4214 is Meteor 3G and GSM You need to try other network SIMS to check coverage.

If Vodafone can't provide a service, I would be looking to get out of contract without penalty

Yeah, ordered a load of sim's to try and see which comes out best... Didn't think of the GSM only setting on the phone, will try that this evening.

    Many thanks
