    Hi all,

I'm 26 currently working full time in Insurance but I am looking to start a career in nursing possibly specialising in midwifery. I'm looking for advice on where to start. I don't have any previous experience in nursing or any degree, so I realise I'll be starting from scratch. Does anyone know if it's possible to attend a pre-nursing/nursing course part time or as an evening course.

I'd appreciate any advice you can give.

    Thanks,
    Jen

    Hi Jen / Pix1e_head

I am researching the same thing. I know there are Pre-nursing courses. One I have been looking at is full time in Inchicore. Also in Dorset College, portobello institute, graft on college. If you do a google search for pre nursing courses in x area you should come up with a good bit of info. Best of Luck.

I would say they would be all full time courses, the only way you could do part time is maybe attend one module at a time in the evenings but this would take a long time. There are 8 modules in total and you have to do work experience communications and team working.

Check on http://www.qualifax.ie in the course search section. You can look up courses under the different qualification levels, location and full or part-time options. The level to look for is usually FETAC level 5.
