It is a video file, I have tried:
VLC (It normally plays anything for me, I think it could even play vinyl)
ffdshow (listed on an old thread here, how do I use it?)

    Any help appreciated.

It is a video file from a security camera system that is saving the footage onto a personal dvd player. It is a very odd setup. To remove the file the only option I could find was to create a backup of the file for that hour I'm interested in.

When I look at the properties of the file, Type of File 264 File (.264)

Can you change the extension of the file to .mp4 and try that?
