Ye boys need to do a crystal! I sold mine about 5 years ago and still regret it. Give it another few years and they'll be extinct.

Well gentlemen, some lovely restoration work going on here. A google search brought me to this post and am wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction. The father in law is just putting the finishing touches on his 4511 restoration and the last piece of the jigsaw is the chrome bonnet/grill emblem
I don't know if it comes in two halves or it wraps around the grill and bonnet in one piece but he can't seem to source one anywhere. So if anybody know where to get one I would be very great full if you could let me know. Thanks.

Just read through this thread and I must say....brilliant work lads!!

It's great to see the old Zetors and the two Sierra vans 'restored from the dead'! :)

The new 'period' reg plates on the Sierra's are a very nice finishing touch!

thanks for all the kind comments lads , yeah im keeping my eye out for a " crystal " , maybe even a six cylinder one !!!!!

in response to your post mo-chara1 , if you ring barlows in England they will post you the chrome you need , they were the only ones that we could get the chrome from , its expensive enough for that particular piece £85 sterling i thing not including postage but it really finishes the tractor off .

here is a link to their web site

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately they won't have them until later on in the year.
    A few months at least.

Great work on the tractors too guys!!
(I've always been a David Brown tractor fan, but it's great to see a vintage tractor of any make or model restored!).

I just realised...I need to correct myself about the Sierra reg plates!
Technically speaking the correct period plates for the Sierra's are Euro plates - as europlates were first introduced in January 1991.

(Btw, If ye can source silver-on-black plates with large digits for the tractors that would complete the priod look on them).

    Keep up the good work!

Anyone see the 2011 at the vintage display in the tullamore show? Not too many around.
I have a 3011 in the shed I'm trying to fix up a little (wouldn't have the expertise to fully restore) got it running again last night and the brake lines are leaking just wondering where I could get new ones?

Could you not buy a roll of cupronickel brake line and a flarer and make them up? You could re-use the unions and it migh save a bit of hassel.

I have seen a zetor 3611 in a shed lately and there is a Manufacturers plate down the left side of the Instrument panel. I can make out the stamp numbers but what there for or mean I don't know can anyone tell me or post up a photo where the chassis number is stamped on the plate if thats where it is located?

hi all , bit of an update , we started work on the 5511 today , we got her started and ran her up and down the road for an hour or so just to check for leaks etc , it was hairy enough at times as there isnt a stitch of brakes anywhere on her !!!!!!

anyway we discovered that the steering was well worn and all over the place with an awfull lot of play in the front axle itself and the center pin especially ,

when we got her back into the shed we started to pull the front apart and the axle practicality fell out of it !

pins bushings shims and anything else that was a moving part had disintegrated , all for the want of a bit of grease .

got on to Jacobs zetor dealers in enniscrone and got all the bits overnight ed and put her back together yesterday and its like a new tractor .

you could turn the steering with your baby finger now .

now we have started on the brakes , again they are shot but we will replace everything and hopefully she will be good when we are finished , here are a few pics .
this is how we got the tractor before we started stripping it down .

Lovely work there, but judging from the tidy appearance of the house and yard, you're no stranger to that! Great thread, my personal favorite on the whole of boards as it happens.

thanks mate , ah sure its only an ould hobby for us and it keeps the ould fella out of the pub lol .

heres a few pictures of our next awaiting projects ,

its a 5611 that has been abondend under a tree for over twenty years , when we got it the back and a nd the engine had siezed solid but when we got it home we discovered that the handbrake bands had siezed onto the brake hubs so we jsut cut them off and got her free , we then pulled out the four injectors and sprayed in a drop of wd40 into each cylinder and gave her a gentle tow and whey hey away she went , stuck the injectors back into her and fresh drop of diesel and she runs like a small watch , the cab is red rotten and will need extensive work or replacing we haven't decided yet .

The 3545s are a lovely little tractor - great one to have in your collection. Did you get the Sierra van sold after?

hi all , im back after a bit of a hiatus , back trouble !!!

anyway the fleet has kind of grown somewhat since i last wrote , i am now the proud owner of a 79' zetor crystal 8011 and also a low hours ( but not running ) zetor 4011 and a 3011 that spent some time in a pond judging by the state of it and the amount of water i took out of the inside of it !!

we also purchased a 5545 which was the one we were looking for to complete our " 5 " series line up , here are a few pictures to whet your appetite , there will also be an update to follow on the progress of our 5611 , stay tuned ............
