I'm doing some research on 3D printing for a college paper, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi there, thanks for clicking the link, any help will be a huge help so thank you in advance!

I'm doing some research on the 3D printing industry and community as an elective because I find it extremely interesting. I figure this will make it feel less like work!
If you could answer any or all of the questions that follow it would be a great help.

    1. What printer filament do you use? Are the most popular 1.75mm ABS and PLA? If not, what do you use?
2.What price do you pay per kg?
3.What colors do you use most often? Are clear and white the most used in the community?
    4.Where do you order from?

    Thanks again! Best of luck

    1) I use 1.75mm PLA filament as I found it has less problems than ABS due to less warping problems and less problems with PLA sticking to the build platform. Use 1.75mm over 3mm as it is to give better print results

    2) The price I pay is between €32 and €38 per kg

    3) Use white and recently got dark blue, use white as it is a basic colour easy paint after etc. Got blue as it looks well but the models that were printed with it turned out well and look well layers less obvious

4)Order from the UK/Germany as its within europe from tax and delivery reasons but also some of the best prices I found.

If you need more info just let me know.....

Hi there liamo, just gonna piggyback on this and ask you where exactly you order from? I'm new to all this and wouldn't mind using some tried and tested companies. Are those prices including p and p? Finally, are there any active 3d printing communities online? Thanks

An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu.
