Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Any of these Tahitians have an Irish granddad by any chance?

We would have to find another one. None of them eligible now.

A couple of those Tahitians are actually okay, Nigeria are pants.

The Tahiti #3 would get into the Ireland team. He's not bad.

Vahirua. You can tell he's played at the highest level in Ligue 1. His debut tonight as well!

Christ, people bitch and moan at the fact that the likes of San Marino and Andorra can play better teams in the European qualifying stages without having to qualify, and now Ronnie Whelan complains that Tahiti are allowed play in a major tournament having qualified for it.

It's called the Confederations Cup because the winners of each confederation's championship is in it. It's not Tahiti's fault that New Zealand lost in the OFC semi final. They did what they had to do and deserve to be there.

Ronnie Whelan would make you want to bang your head against a brick wall, he hasn't a clue.

Richie Sadlier is good to watch. Id put him up there with Neville.

Tahiti earned their place in the tournament, and I'd rather watch them play football than listen to Ronnie Whelan.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,097 ✭✭✭roanoke

Not to mention despite being totally outclassed Tahiti are at least trying to play and entertain.

By comparison imagine San Marino, Andorra (or even Ireland) at this tournament.

Australia going to Asia is a joke. Why were they allowed? Bigger money playing the bigger teams?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 54,656 ✭✭✭✭Headshot

Nigeria are bloody awful. 2nd worse team in the cup for me

Spain will rape them. It will be a hollocaust.

Doubt it. 2-0 up after 5 minutes and then pass it about for the rest of the game, boring several of their own players to death in the process.

FIFA realised the best chance of growing the game in Oceania was to let the only country big enough to ever support a professional league and national side that could compete at the highest level to play against some decent teams. The Austrialian teams playing in the Asian CL is important for the development of the game there as well.

    Anyway, comeback is on

Come on Tahiti let's score 2! You're embarrassing Nigeria!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,885 ✭✭✭Optimalprimerib

Never ever enjoyed spain since watching them suffocate and destroy ireland back in 89. I was only 8 at the time and not that big of a soccer fan at the time but the manner of that defeat crushed me so much I was physically sick and it embedded a painful memory that comes up everytime I watch their style of football.

Tehau, it was one of the Tehaus.

I don't think any of their clubs can afford 50 quid a game, he'll have to look for a big move overseas!
