Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Don't agree that Cesc is overrated. He was sublime for the first half of the season for Barca. A key component in their very good form. They need to learn to manage him better so he doesn't start struggling with niggling injuries at the more crucial times in the season.

Cannot for the life of me see why they'd start with Torres. Soldado's been excellent all season. I mean, the guy only had one relatively poor game.

Alba needs more cover this game. Silva was no help to him. Spain's defensive systems leaves the wings back more exposes. They compact the space around the box leaving the wings opens. The reasoning being they're less likely to concede through the wings than from a more centre attack. Also keeping the compactness preserves full back stamina so they can have a greater impact towards the end of the game.

Also, cannot see why Hulk should be starting.

In respect of the defensive aspect of Spain's game and the speed of transition from defending to attacking, Xabi Alonso has been a miss in this tournament.

I've never once seen what the big deal about Hulk is.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,968 ✭✭✭aindriu80

Hulk hasn't score in something like 9 games. Time to sit this one out.
Spain are definitely favourites but I hope Brasil can do it.

He's made a bit of an impact from the bench but I wouldn't go talking about him being the second coming or that.

Serious goosebumps. Incredible rendition of Brazil's anthem.

    Such a scrappy goal.

Hopefully Spain will string a few hundred passes together and score a few.

Did Casillas just lie down there?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,365 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

This pace from Brazil will relent at some point.

Will Spain be able to capitalise when it does?

They argue every single thing that goes against them. Busquets at it right from the start.
