Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

RTE 2 have it on also, but it looks like an hour behind or so. Program starts at 11:40.

They shouldn't have even bothered showing it.

Interesting that Casillas has his place back in the side. He hasn't played a lot of football this season and some thought Valdes would have deserved to be the starting goalkeeper in this tournament.

If you want to see all games during the week live you may forget watching them on RTE Two

Spain are only getting better, ridiculous.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

Opening 10 minutes and what had been noticeable has been the ferocity of the Soanish pressing. Something we haven't always seen in the last year.

Just as I type this a bit of genius via Iniesta and Cesc unlucky not to score.

  • Registered Users Posts: 486 ✭✭DUBACC

What. A. Move. Unlucky Cesc. Uruguay chasing shadows.

This isn't football. It's like watching a cat with a mouse. Impressive in a disturbing way.

I imagine it could be no worse than the first 15 minutes of this game. Uruguay and Tahiti have one thing in common - they cannot get the ball.

For some people this is fun, but seeing one team with 90%+ of the ball bores the sh*t out of me.

Haiti did better than Ireland against that Spanish team only losing 2-1

After all that they score with a deflection.

Well they lost against an under 20 chilean team (i think it was) in a pre-tournament friendly and got beaten 7-0. I fear for them.

Spain making a mockery of Uruguay tbh.

Goal! Goal! Goal! 1-0 Spain. Absolutely deserved, the first 20 minutes has been football from another planet, the likes of which are rarely seen. Spain unstoppable like this.

Even Pedro is looking up for this! Was hugely disaapointed with him last season. Lucky goal, but at least he took it!

Uruguay cannot use the ball when they have it. that's the key here.

People are saying Spain are boring to watch over on the BBC website. I can't understand how anyone could find them boring to watch.

Spains shirt looks like they have a medal ribbon down the front.

I'd love to see Spain v Germany next year in a quarter or semi final match. Be very interesting to see if Spain could completely negate them like they're doing Uruguay here.

Like you said though, Uruguay are just muck on the ball but its probably down to do with them chasing around shadows in this humidity as well.

Ludicrous to think two of the most sought after strikers in World Football can't even get a touch of the ball.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,775 ✭✭✭✭kfallon

    Get up Ramos ffs

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,207 ✭✭✭miralize

    BBC is also in HD

But is it online & illegal? Because I wont watch it if its not illegal..

they make the game boring as a spectacle.

if the other team doesn't turn up at all, it just turns into a procession, because as you're seeing, Uruguay just can't keep the ball.

one sided games do not generally make great games.

then Ramos feels the need to do that. fúck off. and now Alba.
