I reckon they kinda have a point...

Got me thinking though, I remember filling in those Merlin sticker books as a
kid and some of the best crests were "shinies" and I guess one of my
favourites was the Blackburn Rovers crest which had a cool latin motto
too:


Yeah it's got a flower on it but whatever, I'm comfortable with who I am :P

Though few would be comfortable enough to choose MLS team Columbus Crew as their favourite:


They work hard and they play hard.

There was a competition a while ago some guy made a crest for, he redesigned Man Utd's crest and it looked really good!

That's a damn shame. Remember watching them in La Liga many moons ago when Pauleta played up front for them. They have an Irish connection too as well don't they?

They may reform under a different name as a lot of lower league Spanish clubs tend to do that when they go bust.

Great thread. I dont mind Everton's new crest tbh. Its not that radical a change. Palace crest is very nice also. Blackburn once used wear a flattened version of the Red Rose of Lancashire which was far nicer and it would be nice if they reintroduced it, though i would doubt Shebby Singh is in any way aware of the traditions and values of Blackburn Rovers considering the shamobolic way he is running the club

For anyone of a certain age this crest will take you back to a certain time when card/sticker albums where awesome.



Speaking of which this guy haunted me one year. You'd open a packet and he'd always be lurking in there. There was about 30 Burrows' for every Cantona.

It's Il Biscione and is a symbol for the city of Milan. That crest would have been great on the 11/12 away shirt.

Being a Blackburn fan i tend to agree, always remember them "shinies" they were the business!

As for the flower, It is the red rose of Lancashire and the motto means "skill and Labour" or "art and labour" the latter of which i have always had it as.

Set up by Irish students. The main shareholder and local millionaire who it was hoped would bail the club out of their financial troubles has said he wants to go down the reformation road. Fans are furious though and claim they won't follow any new club and their history is being ignored (I'm in a Whatsapp group of one of the fanclubs and my phone hasn't stopped vibrating all day).
