Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sampdoria crest is pretty cool too.

That always reminds me of a homeless man smoking a pipe.

Sampdoria crest is pretty cool too.

i know their name & colours are because of a merger between two teams but what is it supposed to be in the middle

    wiki says
"The club crest features a sailor in profile known by the old Genoese name of Baciccia, which translates to Giovanni Battista in Italian or John-Baptist in English. The image of a sailor is appropriate due to Sampdoria being based in the port city of Genoa."

is that right? i can't see it, well the hat & pipe (kind of) thought it looked more like a gavel

Well I wouldn't be 100% on the history myself, but it's always looked like it's supposed to me. :)

Quite the turnaround there from the club. It's too late for them to make any changes for the upcoming season though. So, they will be changing the crest this year and once again in a years time. What a shambles.

As a graphic designer, I can see what they were trying to do with the crest. In fact, I think that this representation of the tower is much better than previous attempts. That said- the new design did look a bit off to me, there was just something not quite polished about it...

I had a look at the clubs rationale for the new design online. It mentioned that the work was carried out by an internal team and deliberately didn't enlist any external design help. I can't help but feel if they had opened up their team to make use of an external agency they would have got a better outcome.

Sometimes you can be too close to something and end up doing more harm than good.

I'm a Blackburn Rovers fan and I think our crest is one of the best. The Columbus Crew is the best of the newer ones for sure imo.

I always like the Bohs one too and Feyenoord's one is good too.

It's the royal cradle and the fleur-de-lys from coat of arms of Saint-Germaine, one of two clubs that formed PSG.

Always liked the simplicity of 1860 Munich's crest, hardly changed over the years as well.

Olympique Marseille's one has rarely changed too.

Some older East German ones here.

especially like the Lokomotiv Leipzig one....

Only 2. Villa and West Ham.
There was 3 When Burnley were there back in 09/10. Palace were traditionally Claret and Blue but reverted to red and royal around 1974. No one else afaik unless Vinny Tan orders Cardiff to rebrand again.

This Ireland badge was my favourite of the whole lot. Dunno why they got rid of it. Sometimes simple crests are just the best and this was nice and simple. And also the memories of Italia 90 come flooding back
    images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQPWLas-3ahCjaKN8suMp4d7vevBVIbTCrzmr2LeGLCQEYpeB3Z

My Club Arsenal should have at least looked into the possibility of reintroducing either one of these crests instead of our current one

Love this badge. I imagine they must have had problems with copyright as it's so much better than the current crest. The current one is trying to be too clever by integrating a ball and shamrock so neither is especially clear.

That was my favourite Irish badge too. Have the Euro 88 jersey and looks class on it.

The new one/current one is actually quite nice IMO.

Not big fan of one before it. Looked cheap.

Same here, I always kept an eye out for their results until the club folded. If Athletic can climb a few more steps in the ladder I'd take an interest again.

Yeah, If they could get back to conference level you'd at least see their results in mainstream media. I'd have to root out me auld Jersey for the craic.

In the main I dont like the changing of club crests. A bit of History is nice so the Rovers one is good in that respects and the football is old fashioned. I was always very taken with communist era crests as well - you know what you are getting with them. A damn good hammering.
