Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Distressing doesn't even describe half of what I feel watching this. Did that poor child that got shoved into his chair, hit his head off the table?
Why are they so heavy handed with them? Absolutely terrible.

Body slammed into a mattress - the height of child care in Ireland

The one in the links creche needs jail time for throwing those kids

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,584 ✭✭✭TouchingVirus

She's fairly throwing them about the place at nap time...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,109 ✭✭✭RikkFlair

****ing hell....this bitch is throwing them like rag dolls. Outrageous.

That person shouldn't be minding children, that's a disgrace!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 905 ✭✭✭StompToWork

How the hell can you go to sleep after being manhandled like that?????

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,310 ✭✭✭Technoprisoner

i dont have children...but after watching those kids been thrown around i would be on an assault charge now!!! its a good thing their faces are covered

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,193 ✭✭✭✭Kerrydude1981

Has any creche in the country ever been closed as a result of bad care?

One creche near me was closed for a bit due to bad care, its open now again though, which I found strange.

Video evidence is clear, should be a case for Garda involvement. RSPCA would be involved if the same was done to animals in a zoo.

I'm not saying this to be sensationalist, but as the father of a 7 month old boy (who is not in a creche) I would do time for what I would do to some of these child care 'professionals' if I was a parent of the kids in these situations.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 429 ✭✭denis160

    HSE are a joke.

  • Registered Users Posts: 486 ✭✭DUBACC

I can't get over the violence - as the women said ' slamming them into their chairs'.

And surely shouting at little kids is not going to make them sleep. Actually, Jesus I just saw one of the bit*hes throw a child back onto their matt. If that was my kid I'd nearly be suing for assault or failing that, hitting her a slap myself!

They give the impression of a prison in this. I'm sure there are lovely people working in crèches but I'm just thankful we don't have our daughter in one.

  • Registered Users Posts: 560 ✭✭✭robclay26

See how that fu€king €unt is handling the babies in links crèche!

If somebody did that to my kid I would beat the sh1t out if them!

HSE do nothing to keep our kids safe!!

    Disgrace

I don't particularly like kids, and I am a very impatient person, there is no way in hell I would ever work with them, for their their sake and mine. Why in God's name are these bitches in those jobs if they can't handle it? Poor voiceless babies being humiliated, I'm beyond words. These are like the scenes from Romanian orphanages 20 years ago, parents should sue

  • Registered Users Posts: 713 ✭✭✭Cherry Blossom Girl

I cannot understand why some of the staff are so heavy handed with the children, it's appalling. I feel physically sick after watching that woman practically throw the kids onto their mattresses. Poor little things.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 102 ✭✭EdCastle

Any of those children could have been seriously hurt or injured.

Lets hope parents recognised their kids and the 'minders' and report the incidents to the Gardai!

It looks like it is on rte +1 if anyone missed it (as I did). I've set it to record anyway

a few of these workers would be better heading for the plane out of ireland after this.

The likelyhood of that happening in this country.... Slim to none.

Token layoff, retraining then more of the same.

Yes they are vetted but vetting means very little really. It just means that you haven't been convicted of anything. It doesn't mean that you're a suitable person to be working with children or vulnerable adults.

Sorry should have qualified.....surely there can be some sort of vetting? Well hope some of these women have something inserted in their records - they shouldn't be NEAR babies.

Parents should sue if they can its a disgrace words can't describe how awful it is

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,484 ✭✭✭username123

The one who was more or less assaulting the kids will have to go into hiding. You would recognise her if your child was there. Absolutely appalling. Should be jailed. Wouldn't be surprised if she is assaulted by an angry parent.

Practically a grand a month to have your child flipped like a mattress. Very distressing.

Spot on. Some of them have serious anger management issues.

I think the RTE reporter should have gone straight to the Gardai after witnessing that vile woman throwing small children around.

They could have been seriously injured or worse. That woman should not have been left in charge of the children while RTE continued filming.

I agree, there will be uproar tomorrow in the media.

A witchhunt will start to find out who these people are.

...I'm rolling around the floor pi**ing myself.

Some day you may very well be on the floor pi$$ing yourself and wearing a nappy in the distant future while some untrained carer mistreats you.
Either that or you'll be left in a bed all day coverd in bed sores and malnourished while your children abandon you in some sort of care home.

Society will be better when it realizes that our children need one parent at home not being brought up (or beaten up) by a girl who is paid 8 euro an hour and has a fuse as short as my little finger.

Another problem i see every single day is people having kids as a matter of course and not really thinking out having to mind them and end up resenting them a hell of a lot....

The Mammy Guilt will be palpable tomorrow at the creche doors....

The woman throwing the babies should be investigated by the Gardai.

Oonagh Smith and her undercover reporters have done good work here, even though it made for very distressing viewing.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,892 ✭✭✭spank_inferno

Can someone mention the location of that "links" creche?

I want to ring the local garda station.
I intend to report the assault.
Just to make sure that this is on their radar and investigate.

I encourage others to do the same.

    I totally agree

Program has said that after she left a complaint was made to HSE
It was obvious HSE are not checking often enough that they are under resourced
Rte should have gone to guards ASAP
I'm afraid rte did not go to gaurds so they would have more time to film fur the program
