How long to open a PTSB account?

    I posted off the completed forms, proof of address, ID etc on Monday morning to PTSB (Dublin address).

    Didnt opt for the "Switch" method, going to do it manually myself.

    Has anyone opened an account recently? How long before I get my account number / sort code?

    Not overly worried about how long it takes to get the Visa card.

    It took 7 days from when I posted the ID. They called with the number and details of how to get online banking.

    Not bad, can't wait to be rid of Bank of Ireland. 10+ years as a customer down the swanny! Ah well! :P

    PTSB rang today, should have my account details tomorrow in order to setup the online banking etc. ATM card to follow early next week. Result :)

    Bye bye Bank of Ireland and bye bye 40+ euro fees.
