Hi is is possible to set up a bank account abroad online/over phone here, looking to avoid bank fees and also have no confidence in current banks here,

Can you understand any other Eurozone languages? Some banks do in theory allow this. My own bank here in Germany will open accounts for non-residents who can communicate in German with them. www.dkb.de/
