Skype error

I have been using Skype without any difficulty, however a few days ago an error appeared. This should up as error 1603 fatal error. I don't know how to fix this, any help would be much appreciated

Skype on a Windows PC is it?
That error number is a MS error, it means the installation didn't work.
Is it set to auto-update?

Try un-installing Skype, reboot and and install from scratch. Make sure you remember your username and password.
