    That's what I was thinking, but since they were suffering the similar northern blocking type weather this spring as we have, it might not. Only time will tell.

    That link makes a few references to 1816 (The year without a summer). However, was that not during low solar intensity and after the eruption of Mt Tambora (Largest eruption in last 1600 years)?

    I'll put my neck on the line and say that this year's summer wont be that much different from last years on the continent.
