I've lately noticed that Dude who is 3.5 months old has started to.. uh.. mount Cream as if he wants to do the nasty! We keep making jokes about them being gay lovers but it's really starting to annoy Cream. Dude doesn't actually do anything other than mount him and grab him by the scruff but I'm sure it's only a matter of time before he realises what to do! My only problem is my vets won't neuter him that young, they wait till 5-6 months. Is there anything I could do short of keeping them separated to try help the situation? I don't want to separate them as they love playing together and even as I type this they are curled up happily on the couch beside each other!

You could get him a teddy about the size of your other cat and let him run a muck with that for when you are out but I would stamp my foot or
clap my hands to give him a good fright and distract.

Yeah he has a teddy that he wrestles with when he's in bed, the thing is though even if I clap or shout he shows no fear! He's too well socialised :P

This is the gay boys at the mo!

How old was it when you got it.

Mothers will usually put some manors on the young if left with them for a while.

I think my dog was a bit young and did that on teddys but got over it.Just part of their growing I think.

Oh I should have said, he was an orphan so both I and a fosterer bottle fed him and his sisters!

With his age it's probably just a male dominance issue, which should settle when he's neutered. Have you tried Feliway? It might help with the sexual aggression. It's amazing what a difference neutering makes but leaving it another month or so for him will probably be best. Looking at them in the photo you'd think butter wouldn't melt:D

I actually haven't tried feliway as my vets stopped stocking it, they have pet remedy (like rescue remedy) now so I might give that a try! But he most definitely needs the snip :P He's the most innocent little fella and absolutely adores Cream but then gets his.. notions :P

I haven't tried that one, we use the same vet and I saw it on Wednesday when I had Toby in. Was gonna try it but with the 2 week antibiotic injection, neutering, microchipping and Advocate I couldn't afford it so I didn't even ask how much it cost:) Bloody cooker packed up last Friday so I've to buy a new one. I'm sick of jacket potatoes and pizza from the microwave.

Anyway your fortunate they get on so well, we're still having a howling fest with Felix everytime he sees Toby in the house. Toby keeps making for the stairs so he can move in, Felix not having it so Toby still living in the shed for now, but making himself comfy indoors when Felix out of sight.

Gonna be a long slow process I think.

Had the same with brother and sisters we got at 3 months old; sister got annoyed but nothing ever came out of it (beyond a slapping or two from the sister) until they were neutered (sixish months) so I'd not worry to much about it.
