Travel from Ennis to Limerick - Bus or Rail

Daughter needs to travel from Ennis to Limerick this saturday afternoon. Managed to easily find train and bus times on 'GetThere.ie' web site. Cannot find single fares for either train or bus anywhere. Makes it difficult to make a decision.
Both Irishrail and Bus Eireann web sites are pathetic.

Anyone know what it cost and where buses leave from.

Help much appreciated.

Not much difference in train price (+2 euro at most). Train is also faster

The train fare to Limerick almost doubled when the line to Athenry was re-opened.

Train fare for adult is €10 single and €12.10 return. It takes 35 mins with one very quick stop at Sixmilebridge.
The bus station is in same place as train station.
If your daughter is young and on her own I'd recommend the bus eventhough it takes an hour (through Shannon). Sometimes the trains can be very empty. Ours preferred the buses when they were starting to travel on their own.

Train is €10 for adult and €5.50 for under 16. The train always has wifi whereas not all buses have it.

Just an FYI Mrs D's bus prices are online, which are cheaper then on the bus.

I regularly have to travel from Limerick to Ennis and its train everytime only because the difference is so small and I can charge my phone at the same time

I ended up driving her there.
Did not get reply to my email enquiries to Irish Rail and Bus Eireann just sent me a link to the Galway limerick timetable. I had asked them the cost.
Don't know how independent tourists plan their journeys

They don't. The lack of interest in promoting the Galway - Limerick is more likely the attempt at a slow death.
