Listen to RTE player and watch on Sky

I thought I would like to watch the rugby tomorrow on Sky Sports with the TV volume down and listen to the commentary on RTE through the RTE player on my HTPC.

Has anyone ever tried this? How far out of sync would the sound be from the video?

I guessing for sports, anything more than 2 seconds would be annoying. More than 5 seconds would be unwatchable.

    Thoughts?

    It didn't work.

Surprisingly, the RTE Player was at least 10 seconds ahead of the Sky HD signal.

Pausing the RTE Player for a few seconds didn't work either - it just moved ahead to live after un-pausing.
