Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Attendances have been excellent for competitive games bar one or two in Traps time.

Friendlies have not been great but considering the times we are in they are still as good as most countries in Europe.

Got some huge house for Czechs and Bosnia matches last year before the Euro's, most people are never going to be interested in the likes of Georgia/Oman, especially at this time of the year but they'll cite other reasons than the real one for not going.

You'll only get the true fans there today.

Got tickets and its only down the road, am really looking forward to watching Shane Long and McCarthy play.

'Before' being the key word there.

Anyway, didn't realise both Long and McCarthy are suspended for Faroes game. Hopefully Hoolahoops puts in a performance that's deemed worthy enough to secure a slot against the North Atlantic powerhouse.

In fairness to Georgia they have had some good players over the years.

    Kaladze - AC Milan
    Ketsbaia - Newcastle
    Arveladze - Rangers
    Kinkladze - Man City

Current squad playing outside Georgia - McGeadys buddy Ananidze with Spartak Moscow,Mchedlidze with Empoli,Kashia with Vitesse Arnhem,Khizanishvili in Turkey with Kayserispor.

Is Levan Kenia still doing the rounds?

I find the central defence the most interesting area to watch tonight. I haven't seen much of Richard Keogh and I'm curious to see what he can offer. Nice to see Delaney getting an opportunity too. It would be good to have better cover in this part of the team so hopefully they can step up. If they can't do it against this opposition then you'd wonder about them in bigger matches.

I'd like to see more of Hendrick as well in midfield. Maybe he will come on later.

It's probably one of the least exciting fixtures you can come up with, but if they can bang in a few goals and get a bit of confidence, it will stand us in good stead for the Faroes.

Wearing black to try and sell a few jerseys for our sponsors.

The stench of marketing is strong in this team.

Apparently this game is a " cheers for that " gesture by the FAI, after Georgia agreed to give up home advantage in W.C qualifier in 2008, that was played in Mainz, instead of at home for Georgia.

I was on ticketmaster earlier and there was far less seats available compared to the amount of empty seats in the stadium. Do people just buy tickets and not go or something ?

I think there was a good few bundles going with the Faroes game. I presume people got the bundle and didn't bother going to this one.

Nice burst of pace from Long. Poor finish.

I wonder if there are any international wingers with as poor a touch as Keogh.

    Well that's exciting

Ridiculously poor back pass. Surely now with them being down to ten men we can string a few passes together.

    You've called it.

Harsh red card in my opinion. Doesn't there have to be a clear goalscoring opportunity? Long's touch was so poor even Usain Bolt wouldn't have got to that ball before it went out for a goal kick.

great ad on hoardings about driving to wembley and winning champions league final tickets

Horrible tackle. The red card for the 'keeper was harsh IMO, but that tackle deserved a red card.

Didn't realise Keogh is 27, I thought he was only around 21 and that he could improve.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Long is a great busy player but as Matt Holland said, his finishing could be better. He should have finished the chance he had one on one with the keeper. I recall he also missed our best chance in the qualifier against Sweden.

He's very good in the air as he showed against England, but his finishing on the ground could be better.

McShane & Keogh need to up their games.

    All going down one side.

It's shocking that a pro player with 10 years experience still hasn't got a first touch.

Such a bad player now that I realise how old he is.

If James McLean doesn't wake up he will find himself back playing league of Ireland within 12 months.

Trap looks annoyed, bring on Hendrick and Coleman.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

Dreadful stuff, all of the worst aspects of Irish football. Hoolahan the only one looking to get on the ball and set a tempo.

McShane and Keogh have been laughably bad.

  • Registered Users Posts: 361 ✭✭Cokeistan

Christ this is abysmal. Defenders can't even pass it to each other

  • Registered Users Posts: 541 ✭✭✭DEVEREUX

Wilson should be hauled off ASAP

Crowd getting on the teams back a bit now aswell, I feel a half time booing coming on.
